Wyrd War proudly heralds the return of the pagan fear with the digitally restored official theatrical re-release of George Pavlou's maligned British-Irish monsterpiece RAWHEAD REX (1986).

Based on an awesome Clive Barker short story of the same name, RAWHEAD REX tells the tale of a grotesque ancient deity’s accidental resurrection and gory rampage through the Irish countryside, while an amateur anthropologist and his hapless family attempt to unravel the meaning of mysterious heathen symbolism and pastoral bloodshed...before it is too late! Witness baptism by urination, sketchy 80s animated lightning effects, children in peril, decapitations, and a rubber monster suit that Clive Barker himself described as a "nine foot tall phallus with teeth." Panned by critics during its brief theatrical US release in 1987 and unceremoniously exiled to murky VHS obscurity, RAWHEAD REX has finally returned to subjugate the masses and assume his rightful throne! Tickets available here or at the Hollywood Theatre box office.

We will also be screening legendary cartoonist Sean Taggart's 3 minute short film FRANKEN FOOT at 9:30pm, immediately before RAWHEAD REX! This hilarious DIY oddity has never before been screened in public. Shot on video in 1994 in New York City and written, directed and starring the man responsible for album covers and flyers for some of the most maligned NYHC pioneers such as Cro Mags, Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law, Carnivore and Whiplash!
