I REMEMBER HALLOWEEN

BOO! My third annual Halloween Mix Tape is now available for download at the indomitable Cosmic Hearse! Aesop Dekker has been blowing minds with obscure tunes every fucking day since 2007 and I'm honored that he's asked me to make my spooky mix tapes an annual tradition. I hope you get a little thrill out of the bloodcurdling ditties I've assembled for you this year. Or at least a laugh. In case you missed out, here's a link to last year's mix and my 2009 mix. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween,

and thanks for another great sinister mix tape!

Was there a short sample of Louise Huebner inbetween the madness?

You're absolutely right! There are a few other uncredited samples in the mix. The "such a strange little affair...it's almost like Halloween" right before Danava is from Herschell Gordon Lewis' 2000 Maniacs. The very last sample on side two is Acanthus from the French film Le Frisson Des Vampires.

Cool, thanks for the info.

Haven´t seen any HGL movies in ages but I remember 2000 maniacs had some pretty gory scenes for its time, to say the least...

Posted a comment on the Hearse, but just wanted to thank you here as well. Thanks for keeping this up, I always scamper over to Aesop to start off Halloween right and proper. I'm one of the 'fuckwits', as Aesop's fond of calling us, who rarely posts, but I visit both sites pretty regularly, so cheers for the dedication and hard work and know that there must be plenty of dolts like me who frequent your site but don't say much. Can't wait to listen. Happy Halloween!
