Another WYRD WAR WEDNESDAY at Portland's Star Theater for the history books! This week we presented Penelope Spheeris' DUDES (1987) with guest screenwriters Miguel Tejada-Flores (REVENGE OF THE NERDS, FRIGHT NIGHT 2) and Randall Jahnson (THE DOORS, TALES FROM THE CRYPT) in attendance. Our panel discussion after the film was a master course in genre filmmaking...with booze! Next up at Star Theater is CLASS OF 1984 on September 22. JOIN US!

Steve told us to make funny faces, and we were happy to oblige.
He is the director, after all.

That's a wrap!

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up this weekend to celebrate WYRD WAR's glorious return to the Hollywood Theatre for the first time since March 2020! Our annual "Summer Bummer" double features have become something of a tradition, and this year's presentation of MIRACLE MILE (1988) and CHERRY 2000 (1987) with director Steve De Jarnatt in attendance was truly something special. We started the day with a book signing at Wyrd War headquarters before heading down the street for the films. Thank you to the staff at Hollywood Theatre who support Wyrd War's mission to celebrate strange and wonderful films, music and art. Thank you to Shaun Astor for capturing the magic with these amazing photos. Most importantly, thank you to Steve De Jarnatt for being such a kind, generous, funny and brilliant cat enthusiast. The man is a national treasure. Next up is Penelope Spheeris' DUDES (1987) at Star Theater with writer Randall Jahnson and producer Miguel Tejada-Flores in attendance. See you at the movies...
