BEYOND SHAOLIN: KUNG FU MOVIE PAINTINGS FROM GHANA AT WYRD WAR GALLERY

WYRD WAR 3505 NE Broadway Street Portland, Oregon

FIRST POST OF THE DECADE! I started this blog in March 2006, so this year marks 14 years as a keyboard warrior.  All the scars are on the inside. You still with me? The last few weeks have been a whirlwind as I celebrated the single most amazing year of my life. Too much to get into now, but I would love to share some of the highlights at some later date. For now, it is my pleasure to cordially invite YOU to join me at WYRD WAR headquarters on Saturday February 1st from 7pm - 9pm for our grand opening of 2020! BEYOND SHAOLIN: KUNG FU MOVIE PAINTINGS FROM GHANA is an amazing collection of rugged hand-painted treasures from West Africa, showcasing seven different artists and nine original works from the prolific and mysterious master of Ghana mobile cinema, Mr. Brew! Four decades of celluloid martial arts mayhem celebrated across 15 massive flour sack canvases, spanning the golden age of the 1970s Shaw Brothers revival through the new jack wire-work warriors of the early 2000s! Two lethal styles of kung fu! 75 flying fists of fury! Everything available for purchase. Music by DJ Bestial Walrus. Booze by Wolf Spirit Distillery. This exhibition will be on display every weekend (and by appointment) through Sunday March 1st at 3505 NE Broadway Street in beautiful Portland, Oregon. See you at the gallery. “You...must...avenge...us!”

"So you think your kung fu is good, huh?!?!"
