WYRD WIZARDS

The most flawlessly beautiful 35mm print I've ever seen.

Maria Karlin of Federale performing the main Wizards theme Time Will Tell.

If you know me even casually, you can probably imagine what watching Wizards on 35mm with soundtrack composer Andrew Belling meant to me.

The Wyrd War merch crew!
An amazing stranger gifted me this 1979 Wizards fanzine and this beautiful woman let me touch her. LOL.

We SOLD OUT the Hollywood Theatre for our record release party and 40th anniversary screening of Ralph Bakshi's Wizards! Thank you for making us proud yet again, Portland! Andrew Belling finally received his long overdue "underground Oscar" for Best Soundtrack of 1977 (it only took 40 years!), and we kept him blushing for hours. These photos by Shaun Astor and Tiffany "Meadow" Kenaley reflect the atmosphere of a perfect evening. Thank you to Andy and Casey Alva for spending the evening with us, our friends at Fox Studios for providing an absolutely pristine 35mm print, everyone at Hollywood Theatre for the hospitality (as always), Shaun Astor for the terrific photos, Kallisti and Henry for keeping people happy at the Wyrd War merch table, the random stranger who gifted me his 1979 Wizards fanzine, and EVERYONE who came out and supported this event. I apologize to those who were unable to get in. It's impossible to predict the response and we really had no idea this would sell out. Perhaps we will do it again some day. Next up? RAWHEAD REX on Saturday September 23, 2017 at 9:30pm. Tickets on sale very soon.

The negative ion cult is alive!

We did it, Portland! Hail to Destructor, Antichrist, Danava, the entire crew at Mississippi Studios and EVERYONE who came out on Friday July 7, 2017 for this historic moment in heavy metal. It was an intimate and diehard crowd in one of Portland's finest venues. Incredible sound! This is how you do a concert and this is how lasting metal alliances are forged. Let's do it again soon, eh? All photos by Meadow Mother Wolf, except where noted. Youtube clips courtesy of Jeff Gfroerer. Keep the Faith!
