SHADOW OF DEMONS OPENING RECEPTION

Brian Chankin of Deadly Prey Gallery, Rustyn Birch of AFRU Gallery and Dennis Dread.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend to stand and be counted in the...SHADOW OF DEMONS! It was an amazing and inspiring night in every way. And to think, with absolutely no mention from the local press we had over 400 visitors attend the opening reception...and stick around all night! Wyrd War supporters are the best! The exhibit will be on display at AFRU Gallery every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2pm until 6pm with our closing reception on Friday November 30 from 6pm until midnight with a live performance by Lebenden Toten! I will personally be at the gallery on Saturday November 10, Sunday November 18 and Saturday November 24 if you want a private tour of the show. Very special thanks to my friend Brian Chankin of Deadly Prey Gallery in Chicago and his beautiful family and the entire crew at AFRU Gallery!

STAR BAR HALLOWEEN WITH DJ DENNIS DREAD!

I'll be dragging a cauldron of spooky records down to Portland's premiere "Center for Intoxicology" on Halloween night again this year, so get your costume ready and come get the fear! 10pm until the end at Star Bar

ALAN HOWARTH LIVE AT HOLLYWOOD THEATRE

"In fact, you will not be saved."

#squadgoals

Thank you to everyone who came out for our sold out Wyrd War record release celebration! 380 horror fans shared the incredible experience that was John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS (1987) on 35mm followed by Alan Howarth live in concert on the Hollywood Theatre stage! This new record is essentially a love letter to our supporters and everyone at the Hollywood Theatre for four very fun and very rewarding years of partnership. Here's to many more! The record is already nearly sold out, so if you wish to grab a copy I suggest you head over to the Wyrd War store...like...um...NOW. We have a few of the very limited orange/black variants left from the launch that we will pack randomly in orders. Special thanks to Shaun Astor for these awesome photos. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Alan Howarth at Movie Madness

Our record launch screening and concert at Hollywood Theatre sold out very quickly, so we added a "meet and greet" this Wednesday at Movie Madness for our friends who were unable to get tickets. 6pm-7pm. One hour only. Stop by at 6pm to meet this legend of cinematic sound design and pick up the new record while supplies last. Support for Alan Howarth Live at Hollywood Theatre has been amazing and they'll be gone very soon. It's almost time, kids...

DJ Dennis Dread at Mad Hanna October 13th

Please consider this - the actual greatest flyer ever made - your personal invitation to join me THIS SATURDAY October 13, 2018 at Portland's "best dive bar" Mad Hanna for a special black magic conjuration of crackly vintage vinyl befitting this cold Season of the Witch. This is the official listening party for Wyrd War's soon-to-be-released Alan Howarth Live at Hollywood Theatre LP and I'll be interspersing tracks from this amazing record throughout my set! 8pm-midnight. No cover. Come get the fear.

Here's a sneak peak at the very limited orange & black variant of Alan Howarth Live at Hollywood Theatre. This version is exclusively available at the record release party on October 18 (everyone who pre-ordered before October 1 has already received this special version). There will be plenty of black vinyl editions available after October 18 at the Wyrd War website and everywhere quality horror records are sold! All versions come with a lush 6-panel insert containing a career-spanning interview I conducted with Alan shortly before the concert in 2014. It's almost time, kids...

THE BLACKGUARDS CONTROL

Just in time for "Banned Book Week" (September 23-29) comes this thoughtful review of Patrick Rosenkranz's latest mini-tome JIM OSBORNE: THE BLACK PRINCE OF THE UNDERGROUND. I don't know this dude Ryan C. but he's funny, astute, and totally "gets" it. You should GET IT too...before it joins the list of banned books! In the eternal words of Hawkwind, "Let's not talk of love and flowers and things that don't explode..."
