Torn From The Womb

"O God of Earth and Altar,
Bow down and hear our cry.
Our earthly rulers faulter,
Our people drift and die,
The walls of gold entomb us,
The swords of scorn divide,
Take not thy thunder from us,
But take away our pride."
~G.K. Chesterton

The old buzzard turns 37 today! No, not the English poet G.K. Chesterton (he's dead). ME! My family seems pretty stoked that I'm still alive after all these years and they bought me my very first iPod to celebrate the occasion. My kids crept into the bedroom this morning and stuck the little headphones in my ears so I awoke to the tune of 'Revelations' by Iron Maiden! Once I realized it wasn't just another dream of Bruce Dickinson serenading me, I opened my eyes to a circle of smiles looming over the bed. The best part is that my awesome kids took the liberty of uploading a few albums so they could wake me with some of my favorite music. So what did they choose?

Iron Maiden Live After Death
The Gun Club Fire of Love
The Accused Martha Splatterhead's Maddest Stories Ever Told
Motorhead Snake Bite Love
Freya Aswynn Shades of Yggdrasil

Wow. The rug rats really know their ol' man. Happy Birthday to me!
